Greenply Industries has elevated Nagendra Acharya to the role of group chief human resources officer, marking a key leadership milestone in his long association with the organisation. In his expanded role, Acharya will lead the group’s people agenda across businesses, with a focus on talent strategy, organisational development and culture transformation aligned to Greenply’s long-term growth plans.

Acharya has spent over a decade with Greenply Industries, most recently serving as senior vice president–human resources & administration. During this period, he played a central role in strengthening HR systems, leadership capability and employee engagement across the organisation. His work has been closely linked to building scalable people practices to support business expansion and operational excellence.

As group CHRO, Acharya will be responsible for shaping group-wide HR strategy, strengthening leadership pipelines and driving workforce readiness for the future. His mandate will also include advancing organisational culture, enhancing employee experience and supporting transformation initiatives as the company continues to evolve.

Before joining Greenply, Acharya gained extensive experience across the services and technology sectors. He has held roles in talent management, employee relations and learning and development at organisations such as Tech Mahindra, IBM and EXL. These stints provided him with exposure to large, complex workforces and global operating environments, helping shape his approach to people leadership and capability building.

Acharya’s professional journey reflects a strong grounding in talent development and organisational effectiveness. His experience spans designing training frameworks, driving leadership-development initiatives and building robust employee- engagement mechanisms.

Academically, he has completed a postgraduate qualification in human resources from XLRI Jamshedpur and an executive programme in developing internal talent and leadership from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.

The elevation signals Greenply Industries’ emphasis on strengthening people leadership at the group level as it focuses on sustainable growth, leadership continuity and a future-ready workforce.
