Vertis Infrastructure Trust, formerly known as Highways Infrastructure Trust, has appointed Jonathan D’Souza as its chief human resources officer. This marks a significant leadership move as the organisation sharpens its people and culture agenda to support long-term growth and scale.

Based in Mumbai, D’Souza assumed the role in January 2026 and will lead the end-to-end human resources strategy for the trust. His mandate spans talent and leadership development, culture building, organisational design, rewards, and workforce transformation—critical focus areas as Vertis expands its operations and investment footprint in the infrastructure sector.

D’Souza joins Vertis Infrastructure Trust after a six-year stint as CHRO at Welspun One, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the people strategy for the alternate investment and infrastructure platform. Prior to that, he held dual responsibilities at Welspun World as group head–centres of excellence for talent & rewards and head-HR, where he was instrumental in building scalable talent frameworks, strengthening leadership pipelines, and driving large-scale HR transformation initiatives aligned with business growth.

His career spans over two decades across diverse sectors including infrastructure, logistics, technology services, financial services and consulting. Earlier, as a consultant with Logistic Integrators (India), D’Souza was designated as chief- culture & digital transformation, leading both HR and IT functions as part of a broader organisational transformation agenda. He has also served as head- corporate HR at Tech Mahindra Business Services, where he focused on corporate HR strategy in a fast-growing technology services environment.

D’Souza’s advisory experience includes roles as principal consultant – HR advisory & outsourcing, HR Anexi, and earlier HR leadership positions at Hutchison Global Services and ING Investment Management (India), where he served as VP-HR. Across these roles, he has partnered closely with boards, entrepreneurs, family offices and senior leadership teams, handling complex assignments such as cultural integration, business unit setups, mergers, rationalisation initiatives and grievance redressal.

Known for his strong execution orientation, D’Souza brings deep expertise across the full spectrum of HR—ranging from rewards architecture and organisational culture to digital transformation and workforce analytics. He has also led cross-functional teams enabling technology enhancements, sales analytics and elements of corporate strategy, reinforcing HR’s role as a strategic business partner.

The appointment comes at a time when Vertis Infrastructure Trust is focused on strengthening organisational capability and leadership depth to support its long-term growth ambitions.
