Liberty General Insurance has appointed Puja Agarwal (Biyani) as president – human resources, strengthening its leadership team as the insurer continues to invest in talent and organisational capability. As a member of both the India Leadership Team and the Liberty APAC HR Leadership Team, she will lead the company’s people strategy, leadership development, talent transformation, and organisational effectiveness while advancing the One Liberty culture.
With over 22 years of HR leadership experience, Agarwal brings deep expertise in business partnering, talent acquisition, leadership development, talent management, change management, compensation and benefits, organisational transformation, and employee experience. According to her LinkedIn profile, she is an ICF-certified coach and facilitator with extensive experience leading enterprise-wide people strategies across the banking, asset management, home finance, and financial services sectors.
Prior to joining Liberty General Insurance, she served as head – campus & central recruitment at ICICI Bank for two years, leading recruitment for campus hiring and central functions across the organisation.
Earlier, she spent nearly five years as head of human resources at ICICI Home Finance Company, where she led both strategic and operational HR initiatives, focusing on talent management, employee experience, organisational effectiveness, and fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture.
Agarwal spent over 15 years with ICICI Prudential AMC, where she progressed from management trainee to head – corporate human resources. During her tenure, she gained broad experience across talent acquisition, performance management, learning and organisational development, employee engagement, HR operations, compensation, business partnering, and leadership development.
She has also completed executive education in Human Resources Management from the Indian School of Business (ISB) and holds an MBA in Human Resources Management from the International School of Business & Media (ISB&M).
Her appointment reflects Liberty General Insurance’s continued focus on strengthening leadership capability and building a future-ready organisation to support its long-term growth ambitions.
