    PESB names Ambrish Tripathi for director-HR role at Bharat Electronics

    Public Enterprises Selection Board has recommended Ambrish Tripathi for the position of director (human resources) at Bharat Electronics, marking a significant leadership movement within India’s defence public sector ecosystem. In this new role, Tripathi is expected to play a critical role in steering BEL’s people agenda, including talent development, workforce planning, leadership capability and organisational effectiveness initiatives across the enterprise.

    The recommendation was made during the Public Enterprises Selection Board’s Meeting No. 37/2026 held on 14 May, 2026. Tripathi has been selected for the Schedule A position from a pool of 11 candidates interviewed by the PESB panel.

    Tripathi currently serves as general manager and unit head, BEL’s Kotdwara Unit, where he has been responsible for operational leadership and business management. Over the years, he has built extensive experience within Bharat Electronics and has been closely associated with workforce leadership, organisational management and business operations.

    His elevation to the director (human resources) role signals BEL’s focus on strengthening HR leadership as the organisation continues to expand amid increasing investments in India’s defence manufacturing and electronics ecosystem.

    The proposed move comes at a time when defence public-sector undertakings are placing greater emphasis on workforce capability, leadership development and organisational transformation to support modernisation and long-term growth priorities.

    BEL, a defence public-sector undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, has been expanding its strategic role within India’s defence and electronics landscape, making leadership continuity and workforce capability increasingly important priorities.
