Cigna Healthcare has appointed Anisha Vaz as head-human resources for India, strengthening its people leadership as the company continues to expand its operations and talent capabilities in the country. In her new role, Vaz will lead the company’s India HR strategy, overseeing talent management, employee experience, organisational development and workforce-transformation initiatives.

Prior to joining Cigna Healthcare, she spent over eight years at Walmart Global Tech India, where she progressed through multiple HR leadership roles. During her tenure, she played an important role in people strategy and HR leadership across teams, contributing to workforce management and organisational initiatives within a rapidly evolving technology environment.

Before Walmart, Vaz worked with Robert Bosch Engineering & Business Solutions as deputy manager–HR, where she focused on employee engagement and talent acquisition. She partnered closely with business teams to implement people-centric HR operations and led initiatives around retention, employee connect, workforce morale and leadership coaching. Her responsibilities also included employee relations, transfers, performance management and compensation-related processes.

Earlier, at Syniverse Technologies, where she spent over five years as lead HR, Vaz advised senior leadership on talent strategy and workforce planning. She helped introduce and strengthen several HR initiatives, including succession- planning frameworks, buddy programmes, psychometric assessments for senior hiring and structured development plans for high performers. She also managed attrition strategies, performance- improvement initiatives and hiring programmes.

She began her corporate journey in talent and account management roles, spending over four years with Cisco Systems through Spectrum Consultants, where she worked on recruitment strategy, client management and workforce planning initiatives.

Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Mangalore University, along with schooling at Indian School Muscat.

Cigna Healthcare’s latest appointment signals a continued focus on scalable people practices and sustainable talent development.
