Thermo Fisher Scientific has appointed Vijayalakshmi Nanambi as country leader–HR operations for the Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) region, strengthening its HR leadership team as it continues to advance employee experience and HR transformation initiatives across key markets. In her new role, Nanambi will oversee HR operations across the APJ region, leading employee lifecycle management, payroll support, benefits administration, compliance, vendor governance and HR service delivery.
She will also drive globally- aligned transformation programmes aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and employee experience.
Nanambi brings nearly two decades of experience across human resources operations, shared services, employee benefits, payroll management, compliance and HR transformation. Her expertise spans process optimisation, governance, workforce administration and large-scale HR service delivery across multiple geographies.
Prior to joining Thermo Fisher Scientific, she served as delivery head – HR operations, Capgemini Technology Services. In that role, she led end-to-end HR operations across the hire-to-retire lifecycle for clients in sectors including healthcare, aerospace and renewable energy across India, ASEAN and ANZ markets. She managed a team of more than 40 HR professionals and was responsible for governance, service delivery and operational excellence.
Earlier, she worked with Syngene International, Manipal Global Education Services, Manipal International University and Pearson, holding a variety of HR leadership and business partnering roles. Throughout her career, she has gained extensive experience in employee relations, payroll administration, HR business partnering, benefits management, compliance and workforce operations.
At Thermo Fisher Scientific, Nanambi is expected to play a key role in driving HR transformation across the APJ region by leveraging technology, streamlining processes and strengthening service delivery frameworks. Her appointment reflects the growing importance of HR operations leaders in building scalable, compliant and employee-centric organisations that support business growth across global markets.
