Godrej Capital has expanded its efforts to build an inclusive talent pipeline with BeYou, its affirmative internship programme for LGBTQIA+ professionals. Announced during Pride Month, the initiative is designed to create career opportunities across business, customer-facing and support functions while enabling long-term career growth within the organisation.
The six-month internship programme offers participants hands-on experience, exposure to live business projects and opportunities to transition into permanent roles. Since its launch, BeYou has served as a key hiring channel for the company, with half of its interns securing full-time positions.
The financial services arm of the Godrej Industries Group is also investing in Pride Capital Rising, a mentorship programme that pairs LGBTQIA+ professionals with senior leaders and allies across industries. Alongside talent development, the company is rolling out a Queer Inclusion Programme across its branch network to promote awareness, strengthen allyship and create more inclusive workplace experiences.
Godrej Capital said it now employs more than 40 LGBTQIA+ professionals, representing a tenfold increase over the years as it continues to focus on equitable access to employment and career advancement.
“At Godrej Capital, we believe inclusion is most meaningful when it creates access and opportunity. Through initiatives such as BeYou we are building pathways that enable LGBTQIA+ talent to enter, grow and thrive within the organisation. While inclusion and representation is in our DNA, our focus extends beyond hiring to creating an environment where individuals feel a genuine sense of belonging and have equitable access to development and growth opportunities,” said Bhavya Misra, chief human resources officer, Godrej Capital.
As part of its Pride Month celebrations, the company also organised Pride marches across its offices, hosted cultural performances by transgender artists and unveiled a permanent mural in collaboration with the Aaravani Art Project to reinforce the message of inclusion and belonging.
