    Tata Consumer CEO gets 21.8% pay hike in FY26; employee median pay rises 12.1%

    Sunil D’Souza, MD and CEO, Tata Consumer Products, recorded a 21.8 per cent increase in remuneration during financial year 2025–26, according to the company’s latest annual report.

    D’Souza received a salary of Rs 11.52 crore during the year, compared with Rs 9.46 crore in the previous fiscal. In addition, allowances, perquisites and other benefits amounted to Rs 15.84 crore, while contributions towards retiral benefits stood at Rs 40.01 lakh. In FY25, his allowances and benefits were reported at Rs 13.01 crore.

    The report also highlighted increases in remuneration for other senior executives. For instance, Ajit Krishnakumar, executive director and COO, reportedly saw compensation rise by 9.7 per cent, while Sivakumar Sivasankaran, executive director and president – beverages recorded a 10.6 per cent increase.

    Beyond leadership compensation, the annual report outlined broader employee remuneration trends. Median employee remuneration increased by 12.1 per cent during FY26. Average pay increases for employees excluding managerial personnel and unionised staff stood at approximately 10.11 per cent, while overall employee remuneration rose by 13.76 per cent. Managerial remuneration, meanwhile, grew by 18.7 per cent.

    As of 31 March, 2026, the company had 4,558 permanent employees. The report also highlighted significant hiring activity during the year, with over 650 professionals joining the organisation. Recruitment efforts focused on expanding sales teams and integrating talent into newly-added business verticals.

    The company also increased hiring across functions including e-commerce, category marketing, digital operations, strategic procurement and artificial intelligence to strengthen future capabilities. Internal mobility also remained a focus area, with 23 per cent of vacancies filled through internal job postings.

    Employee attrition for the year stood at 24 per cent, reflecting continued workforce movement amid broader shifts in talent demand and organisational expansion.
