Sukhjit S Pasricha has resigned as president and head – human resources at Jindal Steel, bringing his tenure at the company to an end on 31 October, 2026, barely three months after joining the steelmaker.
The company disclosed his resignation in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. Pasricha cited personal commitments as the reason for his departure.
In his resignation letter addressed to the managing director, Pasricha expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and described his association with the company as a privilege. He also acknowledged the support of the board of directors and colleagues, and committed to ensuring a smooth handover of responsibilities.
Jindal Steel had announced his appointment as president and head – HR on 23 July, 2026. He joined the company after serving as group chief human resources officer at IndiGo, bringing over 30 years of experience across manufacturing, aviation, telecommunications and financial services.
During his career, Pasricha held senior HR leadership positions at several organisations, including IndiGo, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bajaj Finance and Bharti Airtel.
At IndiGo, he served as group CHRO for nearly four years during his second stint with the airline, leading its people strategy through a period of fleet expansion, international growth and post-pandemic scaling. He had earlier served as head – HR and administration at the airline from 2013 to 2018.
Between his two stints at IndiGo, Pasricha was group CHRO and president – HR at Kotak Mahindra Bank from 2019 to 2022. Before that, he served as chief – HR and administration at Bajaj Finance.
He also spent nearly 13 years with the Bharti Airtel Group, holding senior HR leadership roles across India and Africa. Earlier in his career, he worked with Spice Communications and Vardhman Group.
Jindal Steel’s regulatory disclosure identified Pasricha as senior management personnel and confirmed 31 October, 2026, as his last working day. The company has not named an interim or permanent successor to the position in the disclosure.
His departure marks a short-lived transition from the aviation sector to the steel industry, following his appointment to lead the company’s human resources function in July.
