Protean eGov Technologies, a pioneer in citizen-centric Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), has appointed Harpreet Singh Anand as its new chief human resources officer (CHRO). The move reflects the company’s focus on building a future-ready, digital-first workforce as it accelerates global expansion and strengthens its leadership in digital governance.

In his new role, Anand will lead the human resources and administration functions, steering Protean’s people strategy toward agility, productivity and innovation. His mandate includes cultivating a workforce equipped to support the company’s next phase of growth, particularly as Protean expands its footprint across international markets and DPI collaborations.

Prior to this he was associated with Kotak Life as its senior EVP-HR. During his tenure at Kotak Life Insurance, he delivered record-breaking onboarding of 6,000 employees in a single year, setting benchmarks in scale and efficiency.

Anand brings over two decades of experience in HR, organisational design, and business transformation. He has also worked with several other renowned names such as Jio Tesseract, India Post Payments Bank, Aditya Birla, Pramerica Life Insurance, ICICI Prudential and NTT Exports.

Commenting on the appointment, Suresh Sethi, managing director & CEO, Protean eGov Technologies, said, “Protean has played a defining role in shaping India’s Digital Public Infrastructure. His focus on agility, productivity, and digital-first execution will help us build a future-ready organisation.”

Speaking on his appointment, Anand said, “Protean’s work in building population-scale digital infrastructure offers a unique opportunity to redefine what a future-ready workforce looks like — one empowered by data, driven by innovation, and anchored in impact.”

An honorary PhD holder in HR Management from Cambridge Digital University and a certified ICF coach, Anand was conferred the Bharat Gaurav Ratna Shri Samman (2023). His leadership philosophy—rooted in innovation, empathy, and transformation—aligns with Protean’s vision of shaping global, citizen-first digital ecosystems across identity, tax, pensions, and financial inclusion.
