Souvik Sarkar, who was earlier associated with Jubilant FoodWorks as VP & head-HR, has now moved to Devyani International as its new head-HR. Sarkar announced the move through his LinkedIn post.

In this new role, Sarkar will focus on building scalable HR practices, strengthening organisational culture, and developing future-ready capabilities to support Devyani International’s growth. His expertise lies in building and executing successful HR strategy, talent development and people analytics.

Sarkar had been with Jubilant since May 2021, having joined as AVP HR-Domino’s India. A little over two years into this role, he was promoted to VP-HR, Domino’s India, leading people priorities for 6500+ employees, and partnering with business leaders to build a future-ready Domino’s.

An alumnus of the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, Sarkar holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Ramaiah Institute of Technology.

He began his professional journey with ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company, as a management trainee, in June 2008, based out of Indore. A year later, he was promoted to manager-talent acquisition, MP and Chhatisgarh. In 2010, he moved to Citi, as assistant manager HR-sales & distribution, South, playing a significant role in setting up the sales and distribution business across Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Coimbatore. In 2012, he was elevated to manager HR-sales and distribution and mortgage businesses, South. Another promotion came by a year and a half later, which made him manager HR-branch banking and Citibusiness, South. The next promotion came within eight months, in January of 2014, putting him in the position of AVP HR-Citi@Work (India), branch banking [East and rest of Maharashtra (RoM)]. This promotion saw him relocating from Bengaluru to Gurugram.

Sarkar’s next stop was Airtel, where he joined as DGM and circle HR head, in June 2015, based out of Kolkata. Less than three years later, he was elevated to GM and HR head-homes (TNL), leading the HR agenda for the broadband business, from Gurugram. Ten months into this role came another promotion, putting him in the chair of GM and head-HR technology, analytics and shared services, in December of 2018.

After a successful tenure of almost six years at Airtel, Souvik Sarkar moved to Rupeek, as director-HR.

HRKatha congratulates Souvik Sarkar on his new role! His ability to design and drive the people agenda independently, through strong leadership and strategic partnering with various functions, will definitely be an asset to Devyani International.
