ConveGenius.AI has appointed Shishir Shandilya as its chief human resources officer, strengthening its leadership team as the company focuses on scaling its talent capabilities and organisational effectiveness.
In his new role, Shandilya will lead the people agenda for the AI-driven education technology company, with responsibilities spanning talent strategy, leadership development, employee experience, organisational design and workforce transformation. His appointment comes as organisations increasingly seek to build agile, future-ready teams capable of supporting innovation-led growth.
Shandilya joins ConveGenius.AI after a six-year stint at Cashfree Payments, where he most recently served as senior director and head of HRBP & HR Centre of Excellence. During this period, he played a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s people practices as it transitioned from a startup environment to a more mature, scaled organisation.
At Cashfree, he led HR business partnering across technology, product, sales, operations and corporate functions while overseeing key centres of excellence covering learning and development, talent management, performance management, employee experience, onboarding and total rewards. Earlier, he was instrumental in building several foundational HR systems and frameworks, including HR operations, performance architecture and total rewards strategies.
Before joining Cashfree, Shandilya served as manager–HR business partnering at Disney+ Hotstar, where he supported the technology organisation across multiple locations in India and internationally. He also held a series of HR leadership roles at Flipkart, partnering closely with engineering and product teams on succession planning, leadership development, employee engagement and talent- management initiatives.
Interestingly, Shandilya began his professional journey as a software engineer at Infosys before transitioning into human resources. This blend of technology and HR experience has shaped his approach to solving business challenges through people practices and data-driven systems.
An alumnus of Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon, he also completed the Global HR Leaders Programme at the National University of Singapore.
His appointment reflects ConveGenius.AI’s continued investment in strengthening its leadership team as it expands its impact at the intersection of education and artificial intelligence.
