Navi Mumbai Marriott Hotel has appointed Ashish Shetty as assistant director–human resources. In his new role, he will oversee the hotel’s human resources function, including talent acquisition, employee engagement, learning and development, performance management, compliance, and workforce planning.

Shetty brings over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having built a career spanning hotel operations, learning and development, talent management, organisational development, and HR leadership. He began his career in food and beverage operations before transitioning into human resources, giving him deep cross-functional expertise across luxury hospitality.

Prior to joining Navi Mumbai Marriott Hotel, he served as senior director – learning & development at The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, where he led learning, leadership development, and talent initiatives across multiple properties.

Earlier, he was assistant general manager – learning & development at Chalet Hotels, driving capability-building, employee development, and organisational learning across the hospitality group.

Before that, Shetty spent nearly nine years with The St Regis Mumbai. During this period, he led leadership development, onboarding, guest experience training, employee engagement, quality initiatives, CSR programmes, and the management-trainee programme while supporting HR strategy and organisational capability.

He began his hospitality career with Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, where he served as assistant food and beverage manager, building a strong operational foundation before moving into HR and learning.

Shetty holds a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Studies from IHM Aurangabad. His appointment reflects Navi Mumbai Marriott Hotel’s continued focus on strengthening leadership capability, developing talent, and fostering a high-performance, people-first workplace culture.
