Saikat Halder has been promoted to director – talent acquisition at KPMG, marking the latest step in a career spanning more than 15 years across talent acquisition, recruitment and HR leadership.

Halder moves into the role after serving as senior associate director – talent acquisition at KPMG, where he was part of the KPMG Global Services talent-acquisition leadership team. He has worked across hiring strategies and cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple business lines, with experience in both lateral and early-career recruitment.

Before returning to KPMG, Halder spent close to two years with Atlassian as campus recruiting lead – India and Poland (2022-2024). In the role, he focused on early-career hiring across the two markets, adding an international dimension to his talent-acquisition experience.

Halder also spent more than eight years with PwC, where he moved through several recruitment and business HR roles. He joined PwC as an executive in 2011, handling recruitment for Assurance and business- support functions, before moving into broader recruitment and HR responsibilities.

His business HR responsibilities at PwC included employee relations and wellbeing, performance and grievance management, reward and recognition initiatives, and strategic and leadership engagements.

Halder began his career with Ma Foi, where he was deputed to HSBC Global Resourcing and worked across the recruitment cycle from initial sourcing through onboarding. He subsequently spent nearly three years with INX Services, managing junior, middle and senior-level hiring across banking, financial services and telecom sectors.

At KPMG, Halder has described his focus as extending beyond recruitment into process improvement, change management, transitions and building new capabilities through partnerships with business leaders, the people function, external clients, sourcing partners and academia.

Halder holds a PGDBM in Human Resource and Marketing from the Indian Institute of Social Welfare & Business Management and a BA in English from Ramakrishna Mission Residential College, Narendrapur.

His elevation to director – talent acquisition at KPMG marks a progression from recruitment-focused roles into broader talent acquisition leadership, bringing together his experience across campus hiring, experienced hiring, business HR and talent strategy.
