Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals (DFPCL) has appointed Naresh Kumar Puritipati as president – human resources, strengthening its leadership team with an HR veteran who brings over 30 years of experience across the FMCG, dairy, retail, manufacturing, and beverage sectors.
In his new role, Puritipati will lead the company’s people strategy, talent development, organisational culture, leadership capability, and workforce transformation initiatives to support Deepak Fertilisers’ long-term growth.
Prior to joining DFPCL, he served as director-human resources, Lactalis India, where he led the HR agenda for the group’s India operations, including subsidiaries such as Tirumala Milk Products, Anik Industries, and Prabhat Dairy. During his tenure, he focused on HR strategy, leadership development, employee engagement, organisational transformation, and talent management.
Before Lactalis, Puritipati was CHRO at Spencer’s Retail, where he led enterprise-wide HR, driving talent acquisition, employee engagement, capability development, and people strategy for the retail business.
A significant part of his career was spent with Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) and The Coca-Cola Company, where he served for nearly two decades across India and Southeast Asia. Joining HCCB in 2000 as factory HR manager, he progressed through several leadership roles, including zonal HR head, before taking international assignments as HR lead at Coca-Cola Bottler Malaysia and country HR director, Myanmar.
He later returned to HCCB as national head – organisation development & cadre building, and subsequently became HR head – integrated supply chain, where he led end-to-end HR for an employee base of 4,500 permanent employees and over 5,000 contingent workers across 18 manufacturing plants, five distribution centres, logistics operations, and corporate supply chain functions.
Earlier in his career, he worked with Heritage Foods as senior executive – HR & administration after beginning his professional journey in 1995 as personnel and administration officer at Avanti Kopp Electricals.
Throughout his career, Puritipati has built expertise in strategic HR, organisational development, talent management, leadership development, business partnering, employee engagement, performance management, workforce productivity, and large-scale HR transformation.
He holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management and a PhD in Human Resource Management from Andhra University.
