Ashoka Buildcon has appointed Raajeev Saaxena as its new chief human resources officer (CHRO), effective March 2026. The move comes as the company sharpens its focus on building a future-ready workforce amid ongoing expansion across infrastructure segments.
In his new role, Saaxena will drive the organisation’s people agenda, with a mandate spanning performance culture, HR digital transformation, and the creation of a more agile and people-centric workplace. His responsibilities will extend across Ashoka Buildcon’s diverse business verticals, including highways, railways, power, and city gas distribution—each demanding distinct workforce strategies and operational alignment.
Saaxena brings over three decades of experience across human resources and administration, with deep exposure to infrastructure, logistics, and pharmaceutical sectors. Prior to this, he served as general manager–HR & admin, Ion Exchange India, where he led HR for the Projects & Environment division, overseeing a large, multi-location workforce. In this role, he drove HR automation initiatives, implemented digital performance-management systems, and strengthened compliance frameworks across project sites.
His career is marked by a long tenure at Mitsui OSK Lines, where he spent nearly 15 years managing HR and administrative operations across India and the West Asia region. During this period, he played a pivotal role in setting up organisational structures, driving policy standardisation, and aligning workforce planning with business expansion. He also held leadership roles at Ocean Network Express and Ipca Laboratories, further strengthening his expertise in industrial relations, compliance, and large-scale workforce management.
Known for his focus on building scalable people systems, Saaxena has consistently worked at the intersection of HR transformation and business outcomes. His experience includes leading PAN-India operations, designing leadership- development frameworks, and embedding performance-driven cultures in complex, project-led environments. He has also been instrumental in driving HR analytics and automation to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
Academically, Saaxena holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and a diploma in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Institute of Management. His academic grounding complements his hands-on experience in workforce strategy, employee relations, and organisational development.
