Abbott India has elevated Vinutha Mufti as its new director-business human resources, effective 16 December, 2025. Mufti will succeed Rajan Kalantre, who will move to another Abbott affiliate after completing his tenure. Kalantre will continue in his current position until 15 December, 2025, enabling a smooth and well-managed transition.

She joined Abbott in 2015 as a senior manager for the nutrition business. Over time, she advanced through multiple leadership roles across Abbott’s pharmaceuticals and nutrition divisions. She has led HR for primary care, managed HR for nutrition as associate director, and most recently headed business HR for the specialty care portfolio.

Mufti brings more than 20 years of HR expertise. Her expertise lies in client partnering, employee relations, performance management, consulting, talent management and people development. She has worked across many sectors such as IT, ITES, pharma and FMCG industries, helping leaders and managers solve their people problems.

Before joining Abbott, she spent a decade at IBM, focusing on HR business partnering and talent management. She joined the company in 2005 as its assistant manager-HR.

An alumna of Goa Institute of Management, Mufti holds an engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunication.

Abbott India’s decision to elevate an internal leader underscores its commitment to nurturing long-term talent and ensuring leadership continuity. Mufti’s deep understanding of the organisation and diverse HR experience positions her to drive progress in capability building, diversity and inclusion, and talent development.
