Workday, the NYSE-listed enterprise AI platform for managing people, money, and agents, has appointed Sunil Jose as president, India. In his new role, Jose will spearhead Workday’s growth and go-to-market strategy in India, a market the company considers crucial to its international ambitions.
Jose will operate from Workday’s Mumbai office and report to Simon Tate, president of APAC. His leadership will play a key role in supporting both global enterprises with operations in India and local businesses aiming to modernise their systems through AI and automation.
Prior to this, Jose was associated with BrowserStack, a browser- testing platform, as its CRO & head-global field operations. In this role, he was responsible for enabling the next growth phase across major markets: the US, EU, LATAM and APJ. He led and guided a team of 500 + committed members globally across the revenue and field operations team, including sales, customer success, technical support, renewals, sales development, sales strategy, operations, enablement, revenue operations, and partner ecosystem organisations.
With over 30 years of experience in the IT industry, Jose brings leadership expertise from global technology firms including Salesforce, IBM and Oracle. His background in strategic market expansion and ecosystem partnerships is expected to bolster Workday’s local momentum.
“Sunil’s appointment comes at a pivotal time as we focus on supporting our existing global customers with operations in India and helping local organisations modernise their business operations to stay competitive,” said Rob Enslin, president and chief commercial officer, Workday.
“India is a market that allows for ’speed of business’, serving as a true innovation hub and extension of global operations, enabling companies to quickly achieve economies of scale,” said Sunil Jose, president, India, Workday. “This is why Workday’s people-focused culture and core values of trust and integrity are vital to India’s transforming economy – particularly as businesses adopt agentic AI,” he added.
The appointment follows a series of major investments by Workday in India. These include the launch of a local data centre, an expanded sales team, and a stronger partner network—all part of the company’s wider strategy to scale operations in high-growth markets.
Workday’s push in India reflects its global vision to empower organisations through AI while fostering a people-first culture rooted in trust and integrity.
