Renaissance Goa Hotel has appointed Jyotirmoy Kalita as director-human resources, strengthening its leadership team as the property prepares to build a dynamic and people-centric workplace culture.
Kalita brings close to a decade of experience with Marriott International, with a strong track record across talent development, associate relations, and HR operations within the hospitality sector. In his current role, he is part of the pre-opening leadership team, overseeing HR strategy and people practices for the upcoming property.
He began his journey with Marriott in 2016 as part of the Voyager programme at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar. He later joined the pre-opening team of Renaissance Ahmedabad Hotel as assistant human resources manager, where he supported HR operations for two properties with a combined workforce of over 300 associates.
Subsequently, he moved to Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield as human resources manager, leading the HR function across manpower planning, talent acquisition, and employee relations, including navigating workforce challenges during the COVID-19 period. Most recently, at Aloft Bengaluru Outer Ring Road, he served as assistant director-human resources, overseeing HR operations for a 250-member workforce and driving initiatives across rewards and recognition, talent development, and policy implementation.
Kalita is known for his ability to build high-engagement work environments, maintain low attrition, and drive operational efficiency through structured HR practices. His experience spans pre-opening environments, multi-property HR operations, and managing large, diverse teams in fast-paced hospitality settings.
He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Annamalai University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management in Human Resources from Delhi School of Business.
His appointment reflects a broader focus within the hospitality industry on strengthening people leadership as hotels scale operations and prioritise employee experience alongside service excellence.
