Devleena Sanyal Majumdar, chief human resources officer, TV9 Network, has resigned from her position, according to sources familiar with the development. However, her resignation is yet to be formally accepted by the company. Majumdar is reportedly expected to join BIG FM in a senior leadership role, although neither organisation has officially confirmed the move.
Majumdar joined TV9 Network in February 2022 as CHRO and also served as director – business affairs, Studio9, the network’s content- production arm. In her dual role, she was responsible for human resources, business development and operational strategy.
With over 25 years of experience across media, entertainment, consulting and financial services, she is regarded as one of the industry’s seasoned HR leaders. Before joining TV9, she founded LEAN People Consulting Services, advising organisations on talent acquisition, organisational development, change management and HR strategy.
Earlier, she served as chief of staff, Culture Machine Media and Rainshine Entertainment, where she oversaw business operations, revenue planning, people strategy and organisational effectiveness. During her tenure, Culture Machine gained national and international attention for introducing the “First Day of Period” leave policy, a first-of-its-kind initiative in the Indian media industry.
Her previous leadership assignments include heading HR at TV Today Network, Viacom18, and Zoom Entertainment. She has also worked with ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, IBM Daksh and Wipro Spectramind.
Majumdar holds a master’s degree in Industrial Psychology from University of Mumbai and a psychology honours degree from University of Calcutta.
If confirmed, her move would mark another significant leadership transition in India’s media and entertainment sector.
