HDFC Pension has appointed Hetal Javeri-Nandu as its chief human resources officer (CHRO), strengthening its leadership team as the organisation continues to expand its presence in India’s fast-growing pension fund management industry. In her new role, Javeri-Nandu will lead the company’s people strategy, overseeing talent management, organisational development, leadership capability, employee engagement, workforce planning, and HR transformation to support HDFC Pension’s long-term growth.
She brings around 16 years of experience across the BFSI sector, with expertise in strategic HR, business partnering, talent management, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee engagement, rewards and recognition, and HR transformation. According to her LinkedIn profile, she believes HR is about “the people behind the business” and focuses on delivering business-centric HR solutions that enhance employee experience.
Prior to joining HDFC Pension, Javeri served as vice president – human resources at HDFC Life for nearly three years, where she led strategic HR partnering for the HDFC Bank *relationship* through a team of HR business partners, aligning people strategy with business objectives.
Earlier, she spent over 10 years at SBI General Insurance, progressing through multiple HR leadership roles, heading several HR centres of excellence across performance management, compensation and benefits, talent management, HR analytics, employee engagement, and HR policies.
She began her journey at SBI General Insurance as assistant manager – HR, where she contributed to the company’s behavioural competency framework, HRMS implementation, HR policy development, employee referral programmes, and HR business partnering.
Javeri-Nandu holds a Master of Management Studies (MMS) in Human Resources from KJ Somaiya Institute of Management and Research and a Bachelor of Commerce from HR College, Mumbai University.
