Magenta Mobility, an Indian EV logistics solutions provider, has announced a leadership realignment as it prepares to accelerate its expansion in the clean- mobility ecosystem. Under the new structure, Maxson Lewis, currently CEO and director, will transition to the role of founder & chairman, while Sujit Cherian has been appointed as the company’s new chief executive officer (CEO).
As CEO, Cherian will spearhead Magenta’s strategic vision, operational excellence, market expansion, and commercial partnerships. Prior to this, Cherian was associated with LEAP India as its chief strategy officer (CSO). He joined the company in 2022.
He has also worked with several other companies such as Bravia Capital, Go Airlines, Jet Airways, PwC, Ernst & Young and Taj Hotels, Resorts & Palaces. His expertise lies in negotiation, budgeting, business planning, internal audit and operations management.
Lewis, in his new role, will focus on long-term strategy, technology alliances, and advocacy with industry bodies and government to advance Magenta’s mission of decarbonising logistics.
Reflecting on the company’s journey, Lewis said, “This transition is about future-proofing that journey. With Sujit leading operations, I will focus on shaping not only Magenta’s long-term roadmap but also the larger EV logistics ecosystem in India.”
Expressing his vision, Cherian noted, “I am excited to lead Magenta into its next phase of growth. With the strong foundation built by Maxson, we are poised to scale our fleet, deepen industry collaborations, and create transformative impact as India accelerates its clean mobility transition.”
The transition comes at a critical juncture as India intensifies efforts toward net-zero goals and rapid electrification of cargo movement. By restructuring its leadership, Magenta aims to strengthen continuity, sharpen its operational focus, and seize emerging opportunities in EV fleet deployment and clean energy collaborations.
