    NEC India appoints Tan Jonathan as head-HR

    NEC India has appointed Tan Jonathan as head-human resources, expanding his leadership responsibilities while he continues in his existing role as SVP–regional HR, NEC ASEAN. In his expanded role at NEC India, Jonathan is expected to strengthen the organisation’s HR framework, support leadership capability building and drive workforce strategies aligned with the company’s growth ambitions in India.

    Jonathan brings over 25 years of professional experience, including more than a decade with NEC Corporation. Over the years, he has built strong expertise in organisational effectiveness, talent development and aligning people strategies with business priorities across diverse markets in the Asia-Pacific region.

    Currently serving as vice president-HR, APAC, NEC Asia Pacific, Jonathan has been responsible for leading HR operations across the region. In this capacity, he has worked closely with business leaders and the APAC president, providing strategic advisory across key areas such as recruitment, compensation and benefits, performance management and change management. His role has also involved driving alignment between regional priorities and global HR initiatives in collaboration with headquarters in Japan.

    Prior to NEC, Jonathan held senior HR leadership roles across organisations such as Kerry Ingredients, MOH Holdings, Samsung Electronics, Agilent Technologies and Avago Technologies. Across these roles, he has led HR strategy, talent- identification programmes, workforce planning and cross-border HR operations, including staffing, immigration and relocation management across Asia-Pacific markets.

    He holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and Business Administration from RMIT University.
