Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has elevated Prerna Sinha to head-human resources for its Cyber Security Business Group, entrusting a long-serving people leader with shaping talent strategy for one of the company’s most critical growth areas. The appointment comes as cyber security talent becomes central to enterprise resilience, digital trust and regulatory compliance.
Based in Pune, Sinha now leads the people agenda for TCS’ cyber security business, overseeing workforce planning, capability building, leadership development and culture. Her mandate reflects the increasing need for specialised HR leadership as cyber security shifts from a support function to a board-level priority for global clients.
Sinha’s journey with TCS spans nearly 19 years, making her a deeply- embedded leader within the organisation. She began her career at TCS in talent engagement and HR executive roles, working closely with business teams on policy implementation, employee engagement and performance processes. Early in her career, she was involved in organisation-wide appraisal cycles, feedback mechanisms and employee- welfare initiatives, building a strong foundation in core HR operations.
She went on to play a pivotal role in talent acquisition, leading experienced professionals hiring for the Pune region for over five years. In this phase, she managed large lateral hiring programmes, strengthened sourcing, selection and induction processes, and worked closely with business, workforce management and external partners to support aggressive ramp-ups.
From 2016 onwards, Sinha took on national responsibility as head-experienced professionals hiring for India, translating business strategy into large-scale and niche talent plans across verticals. Her role involved building recruitment systems and processes at scale, while balancing speed, quality and governance.
She later moved into business HR leadership roles, serving as head of HR for manufacturing and utilities, followed by HR head for the BFSI business units. In these roles, she worked on organisation effectiveness, leadership alignment and workforce strategy in complex, high-stakes businesses.
Her elevation to lead HR for the Cyber Security Business Group builds on this progression. With cyber skills in short supply globally, Sinha’s experience across hiring, transformation and strategic HR partnering positions her at the centre of TCS’s efforts to build future-ready cyber talent and sustain long-term growth in a highly competitive market.
An alumnus of the Institute of Management Development & Research, Pune, Sinha is passionate about conceptualising and implementing innovative ways of attracting exceptional talent from the market.
