Alkem Laboratories has appointed Shivaditya Banerjee as senior vice president–human resources, further strengthening its leadership team as the pharmaceutical major continues to enhance its people and organisational capabilities. Based at the company’s Mumbai headquarters, Banerjee will lead corporate HR, India sales & marketing HR, and international HR, driving talent strategy, organisational capability, leadership development, culture, and business partnering to support Alkem’s long-term growth.
Banerjee brings nearly two decades of HR leadership experience across the pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare, chemicals, manufacturing, and FMCG sectors, with expertise spanning corporate HR, sales, manufacturing, R&D, industrial relations, and international HR.
Prior to joining Alkem, he spent over seven years at Piramal Pharma. Most recently, he served as head – human resources, Piramal Consumer Healthcare for over two years, where he led the overall HR strategy for the consumer healthcare business and supported organisational transformation. Before that, he was head HR–India, Piramal Pharma Solutions for more than five years, driving cultural transformation, organisational development, talent management, and business partnering across the business.
Earlier, Banerjee served as vice president–human resources at AYM Syntex for over two years, leading the company’s HR function and supporting business growth through strategic people initiatives.
A significant part of his career was spent at Asian Paints, where he worked for nearly 10 years across multiple HR leadership roles. During this period, he partnered with businesses spanning international operations, marketing, supply chain, IT, finance, and manufacturing, while also leading HR and industrial relations for the company’s plants in Rohtak and Ankleshwar. He later headed HR for Asian Paints’ international business, supporting 14 overseas subsidiaries, including greenfield projects and acquisitions, covering a workforce of over 2,300 employees.
An alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur, Banerjee holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunication from Nagpur University.
