Blackstone has appointed Kasturi Mitra as assistant vice president – human resources (AVP-HR), marking her move into a senior HR role at the global investment firm. At Blackstone, Mitra will bring her experience in leadership recruitment and talent planning to the company’s HR function.
Mitra brings over 15 years of experience across recruitment, talent acquisition and leadership hiring, with a career spanning financial services, technology and professional services. Her expertise includes end-to-end leadership hiring, strategic workforce planning, competency development and diversity, equity and inclusion hiring.
She joins Blackstone from Moody’s Corporation, where she spent five years as global talent partner. In this role, she worked on talent planning, DEI initiatives and global talent acquisition. Prior to Moody’s, she was with Accenture looking into senioir leadership hiring across Accenture’s technology business.
Mitra has also worked independently on leadership hiring assignments, following an earlier stint with Capgemini as process lead – leadership hiring. Her career in recruitment began with Moody’s Analytics, where she served as a recruiter, followed by a stint as consultant – recruitment with Kelly Services India.
Earlier in her career, Mitra worked on recruitment for Target through an RPO engagement with VNV Consulting, handling end-to-end hiring for technology services, financial shared services and property development teams.
Mitra holds a Master of Social Work in Human Resources from Christ University, Bengaluru, and has also studied Psychology with a focus on Industrial and Organisational Psychology at Miranda House, University of Delhi.
