Religare Enterprises has appointed Indranil Choudhury as its new group chief human resources officer, marking a significant leadership addition as the company sharpens its people strategy across its financial services businesses. Choudhury joins the organisation after concluding a six-year tenure at UTI Asset Management Company, where he led Group HR and ESG initiatives and contributed to several organisation-wide transformation efforts.
Sharing his excitement about the move on LinkedIn, Choudhury noted that Religare Group is preparing for a major leap in the financial services space, supported by strong promoters and a growth-oriented leadership team. “ I am energised by the opportunity to contribute at such a pivotal stage in the company’s expansion and looks forward to the road ahead,” he added.
At Religare, he is expected to anchor a refreshed HR agenda focused on cultural renewal, capability building, governance enhancement and sustainability-aligned people practices. His appointment comes at a time when the Group is preparing for an ambitious expansion across NBFC, broking, housing finance and insurance verticals. Strengthening employee experience and building a unified culture across business units are expected to be key priorities under his leadership.
With over 20 years of experience in financial services, Choudhury brings a strong track record in talent management, culture building, leadership development and HR transformation. His earlier leadership roles at HDFC Life and Shoppers Stop, helped strengthen his expertise in workforce planning and organisational development in highly regulated, fast-growing environments.
Choudhury reflected on his transition through a detailed personal note on LinkedIn, describing his time at UTI AMC as a period of growth, learning and meaningful collaboration. He shared that the organisation became “more than just a workplace,” offering experiences that pushed him beyond his comfort zone and shaped his professional journey. As he steps into his new role, he expressed gratitude for the relationships and support that defined his previous chapter, emphasising that while roles change, connections remain a constant anchor.
An alumnus of London Business School, Choudhury holds a post graduate degree in human resources development from NIILM University, Haryana.
