Sowparnika Projects has appointed Rekha Nagaraj as chief human resources officer (CHRO), effective July 2026. She will lead the company’s people and organisational agenda, partnering with the Board and executive leadership on organisational capability, leadership development and culture.

Nagaraj brings more than 32 years of experience across HR, IT, non-IT, real estate and construction. She joins Sowparnika Projects after a 23-year long stint with Mfar Constructions, where she most recently served as corporate head HR&A and CHRO.

At Mfar, Nagaraj was responsible for strategic HR, organisational culture, employee experience, talent management, succession planning, retention, HR policies, governance and learning and development. Her mandate covered a workforce of more than 30,000 employees, according to her LinkedIn profile.

During her tenure, she also established the organisation’s Learning & Development function and worked on workforce planning, performance management and employee engagement across business units.

Nagaraj began her career in 1993 in administration and marketing at Ananya Exports and subsequently held roles across engineering, software, HR and administration. Her early career included stints at Operon Automation, SSI, Microsolve Consulting and Raman Computers, before she joined Mfar Constructions in 2003.

At Sowparnika Projects, her mandate will include HR strategy, talent management, employee engagement, organisational development, leadership development and people practices, with a focus on aligning the people agenda with the company’s growth plans.

Nagaraj holds a BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Vijayanagar College of Engineering, Bellary, and an MBA in Human Resource Management from Sikkim Manipal University. She also received the Golden Peacock National Training Award 2007 as one of its recipients.

Sowparnika Projects is a Bengaluru-headquartered real-estate developer with operations across Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
