28 years across factories and workforces: Atul Pandey takes HR charge at Victory Group

Atul Pandey has taken over as group human resources director at Victory Group, bringing nearly three decades of HR experience built largely across manufacturing and industrial businesses.

In his new role, Pandey will lead the group’s HR agenda, drawing on a career that has taken him through auto components, electronics, FMCG, footwear, speciality films and other manufacturing environments.

Pandey most recently served as chief human resources officer at Aamor Inox, where his work focused on HR transformation, employee engagement and using data more extensively in people decisions. According to the career details available, he held the role from May to November 2023.

Before Aamor Inox, Pandey was CHRO at SFC Solutions India, an auto-components manufacturer, where he led the people function for more than two years.

He has also headed HR at Relaxo Footwears and Max Speciality Films. At the latter, his remit extended across HR strategy and business partnering to talent management, organisation development, succession planning, performance management, organisation design and workforce restructuring.

Industrial relations has been another recurring part of his career. At Cargill India, where he spent more than five years, Pandey led employee relations alongside HR for sales and marketing. Earlier, during more than five years with Samsung India Electronics, he worked across manufacturing plants and handled both unionised and non-unionised workforces.

Pandey has also served as assistant vice president-HR at Valvoline Cummins.

His grounding in manufacturing HR goes back to the beginning of his career. He started with Motherson Sumi Systems in 1995 and subsequently worked with BPL before moving through increasingly senior HR roles.

Pandey holds a postgraduate diploma in personnel management and a Master of Social Work from the University of Lucknow.

The Victory Group assignment therefore continues a thread that has run through much of his career: managing people in businesses where HR extends beyond corporate talent programmes into factories, workforce relations, productivity and organisational change.
